Wings, Competition & Community Come Together For Our Troops

Get ready to bring your appetite, gather your friends, and join us for a day of food, friendly competition, live music, local vendors, and community spirit! Towns 4 Troops Wing Wars returns on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Long Lot Farm Brewery in Chester, NY, and this year we have plenty planned.

At the center of the event is our Iron Chef-Style Competition: Wing Wars, where teams will put their cooking skills, creativity, and ability to handle a little friendly pressure to the test. But Wing Wars is about much more than determining who can make the best chicken wing. It’s a day designed to bring our community together while raising support and awareness for the active-duty military members, veterans, and families served by Towns 4 Troops.

This year, our Wing Wars teams will have three different ways to compete and win.

First up is the People’s Choice Competition, and this is where our guests get involved! Purchase a platter of plain wings from the food truck on-site and bring them around to the competing teams. Each team will toss one of your wings in its specially created signature sauce, giving you the chance to taste your way through the competition, meet the teams, and ultimately cast your vote for the People’s Choice winner.

Want to make it even easier? Purchase a $20 Wing Lover Pass, which includes your event admission AND a platter of plain wings for the People’s Choice tasting.

Teams will also face our On-Site Culinary Competition. For this portion of Wing Wars, competitors must prepare their wings and sauce from scratch on-site before presenting their creations to our culinary judges. Taste, creativity, presentation, and overall execution will all come into play as the judges determine which team deserves the title.

Then things get even more interesting with our Head-to-Head Wing Challenge. One member from each team will face another competitor in a fast-paced, 10-minute sauce-making battle using a selection of available ingredients. The winning team advances through the bracket, but a new member must step up to represent the team in the next round. The battles continue until only one team is left standing!
